This week´s error message

I´ve seen a lot of weird Windows error messages over the Internet, but until now, none of them had hit me. Last week, while trying to kill Outlook 2007 after it went unresponsive for a while in my office laptop, the following window appeared on my desktop:

Outlook Error

It´s in spanish and says: “It is not possible to force Microsoft Office Outlook to close right now. If you reboot your computer, this might solve the problem. We´re sorry for the inconvenience.”

I was speechless… It seems, after all, that rebooting your computer IS a viable solution and it is recommended by Microsoft! Fortunately, in other OSes, these “methods” don´t exist (at least, I haven´t seen them…yet.)

For those of you that only have in your fridge some bicarbonate and a lonely lemon, this page may be quite useful to calm your appetite when you suddenly remember that you haven´t bought food lately and when you´re tired of having only a tea with biscuits for dinner. The idea is very simple: we are asked about the ingredients and / or condiments that we have available, and based on our answers, the site makes some recommendations of what to cook or eat. Most dishes are simple and fast (like eating an apple “au natural”),  although there are also more elaborate suggestions such as lemon chicken, cheese suflee, toast with spices and so on. Obviously, the more ingredients you have, more things / dishes you can prepare. I have done the experiment putting only essential ingredients and it still tells me what I can cook! It also informs about the percentage that we have available to prepare a certain dish, and makes a list of the missing components…
